TURTLES & TORTOISES
Species Finder
Turtles have roamed our planet for more than 260 million years. During that time, they have evolved to live across a highly diverse array of habitats, from the river valleys of southwestern Canada to the Andes foothills of Argentina, from the steppes of Kazakhstan to the coastal streams of southeastern Australia. There are very few corners of the Earth that turtles do not naturally inhabit—and coexist with humans.
The following species represent some of the 100+ species that Turtle Survival Alliance works to preserve worldwide.
