Makenzie joined the Turtle Survival Center team as a Chelonian Keeper in March of 2026. Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC, he has always enjoyed learning and helping wildlife. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Furthering his education with volunteering and then an internship at the South Carolina Aquarium. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time walking the local county parks and checking out the small local businesses in Charleston.
