Elena Duran
Communications Manager
Elena Duran joined Turtle Survival Alliance in the fall of 2023, working with the development team as the Communications Manager. Motivated by her love for the arts, she received a Master’s Degree in Arts Business from the University of Wisconsin School of Business, Bolz Center for Arts Administration in 2021. Elena has worked in marketing & development at major arts organizations in Madison, WI including the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and Monroe Street Arts Center. After relocating to Charleston, SC to be closer to family, Elena sought to bring her skills in nonprofit leadership to other organizations whose missions inspired her. She joined Turtle Survival Alliance to be a part of their impactful conservation work, and to contribute to improving the lives of all creatures – animals and humans alike.
Elena enjoys exploring her new home in Charleston with frequent trips to the beach, attending local craft & food markets, and trying out new restaurants. She is also a ceramic artist and enjoys making pottery to sell and to give to friends & family.
