Our conservation efforts in Madagascar to protect the critically endangered Radiated Tortoise (Astrochelys radiata) were recently showcased in the PBS series In Her Nature, in the episode, “The Slowest Stampede on Earth.”
The episode follows the incredible work of Tsanta Fiderana Rakotonahary, Head of Veterinary Support; K’oloina Ramahandrizafy, Lead Keeper; and Mitia Andrianantenaina, Veterinary Assistant, as they lead the release of 1,000 Radiated Tortoises into their native habitat—a major milestone in the ongoing fight to preserve this iconic species.
