Isabel Hernandez
Executive Assistant
Isabel Hernandez is the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO, with a focus on assisting the Turtle Survival Alliance Board of Directors. New to the organization in 2024, Isabel brings over 30 years of experience in administrative roles, primarily in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors with a strong background in project management, event planning, and executive support.
Isabel’s professional journey began in 1981 in the banking sector. Over the years, she has immersed herself in various fields, including media, production, and publication. However, it was her transition to philanthropy in 1997, working for a Special Events Management firm whose clientele was mainly not-for-profit, that truly transformed her professional and personal life. This experience instilled in her a deep commitment to giving back and paying it forward. She believes in the power of teamwork and continuous learning, striving to create a positive and efficient environment, both professionally and personally. Isabel is passionate about using her extensive experience to support Turtle Survival Alliance and their vision of Zero Turtle Extinctions.
Being a transplanted New Yorker; Isabel enjoys a healthy lifestyle, working out daily and taking long walks along the beach near her home in Delray Beach Florida. She is a music lover of all types, an avid movie fan, and loves road trips. Isabel spends as much time as possible with her family, grandkids, and her partner in crime. Family is very important to her; she recalls how her love of all sorts of creatures (mammals, reptilians, fish, and feathered) came from the way her children always brought home animals they rescued and nurtured back to health; some stayed and some were given up for adoption, but that love her children expressed to the animals made an incredible mark in her to do more. And now, having joined Turtle Survival Alliance, she knows she can!
