Celebrating 20 Years
On May 11, 2004, Turtle Survival Alliance gained independence—officially registered as a stand-alone nonprofit—after operating under the auspices of the IUCN Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group for the first three years.
It is with great pride and overflowing appreciation that this May we celebrate 20 years of our long-term, science-based initiatives worldwide.

Turtle Month 2024
Our anniversary falls during Turtle Month 2024, a month-long celebration of the diversity, beauty, and preservation of the 350+ living species of turtles, tortoises, sea turtles, and terrapins found on Earth.
