The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) provides more than $2 trillion in relief funds to support the U.S. economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CARES Act also includes provisions that provide additional tax relief for charitable giving in the 2020 and 2021 tax year, including a $300 “above-the-line” deduction for those who do not itemize deductions. This adjustment is available for cash gifts to public charities and is limited to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple). For those who do itemize their deductions, the CARES Act allows for cash contributions to qualified charities to be deducted up to 100% of adjusted gross income for the 2021 tax year. Consult your financial advisor to find out of these changes and other provisions apply to you.

Give Stocks

Gifts of appreciated stock are an easy way to provide crucial support to TSA and increase your charitable giving. To make a donation of securities, fill out and return our TSA Donation of Securities form, which also includes delivery instructions for your broker. The Pension Protection Act of 2006 gives those at least 70½ years of age the opportunity to make tax-free charitable gifts from IRA funds, including the minimum required distribution. Please also consider making TSA a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k) or other qualified retirement plan.
