18^th Annual Symposium

on the Conservation and Biology of

Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles

— A Virtual Experience —

The Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA) and IUCN Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group (TFTSG) hosted our 1st ever Virtual, and 18th Annual, Symposium on the Conservation and Biology of Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles. Spanning eight weeks, this symposium, sponsored by Zoo Med Laboratories, provided an unmatched virtual opportunity for those in our field to share their research, initiatives, techniques, and accomplishments, while engaging safely and comfortably from our own homes and offices – and even the field.

As always, our dedicated Program Committee brought together a wide variety of presentations from around the world, ranging in topic from captive husbandry to field techniques to conservation. Each week, on Thursdays, we presented new sessions featuring several speakers, for the duration of the eight-week symposium. Those presentations are now archived on our YouTube Channel. Furthermore, the symposium included two poster sessions that are archived and available for online viewing in perpetuity. Understanding that these are difficult times for many, the TSA and IUCN TFTSG, in collaboration with Zoo Med Laboratories, were happy to bring this Virtual Symposium to you free of charge.
